Crystal Cove

Between Newport Beach and Laguna Beach on the southern coast of California is Crystal Cove State Park.

The cove was home to native villages before the Spanish arrived. In 1864, the Irvine family purchased the property and used it as a ranch. Cottages were built and the cove was enjoyed by the Irvines until the California Coastal Commission bought it in 1979.

Crystal Cove State Park has cabins to rent, shops, the Beachcomber Restaurant, and lot's of history, canyons, and wildlife to enjoy. Every day at 5:00 PM, the cocktail flag at the Beachcomber Restaurant is raised to signal the official start of cocktail hour. It's a tradition that dates back to the 1940s.
